SATS information for parents Year 2
Towards the end of Key stage 1, Year 2 children will take the Key stage 1 SATs (Statutory Assessment Tests). The SATS tests take place in May and will consist of English and Maths: a reading comprehension and grammar and spelling test for English and an Arithmetic and Problem Solving task in Maths. The tests are designed to support and confirm the on- going teacher assessment which happens throughout the year to track your child’s progress and achievement. At end of the year your child either achieve emerging year 2, secure year 2 or mastery year 2.
Y2 SATs information May 2022
These documents provide information for parents and carers about the end of year expectations for children in our school. These expectations have been identified as being the minimum requirements your child must meet in order to ensure continued progress throughout the following year. All the objectives will be worked on throughout the year and will be the focus of direct teaching. Any extra support you can provide in helping your child to achieve these is greatly valued.
