Friends of Wantage Primary Academy (FoWPA)

Welcome to the Friends of Wantage Primary Academy (FoWPA), our Parent Teacher and Friends Association! We are a group of dedicated parents, carers and staff working together to support our school community by raising vital funds for the enrichment of all pupils.

What We Do

The FoWPA is passionate about enhancing the educational experience at Wantage Primary Academy. Through our events and initiatives, we aim to fundraise for resources and projects that directly benefit the children. Our fundraising activities are not only designed to raise money but also to bring the school community together. Some of our key events and initiatives include:

• School Discos: Fun-filled evenings for the children to enjoy with friends.
• Competitions: Engaging activities that inspire creativity.
• Bake Sales: Delicious treats made and shared by our school community.
• Raffles: Exciting opportunities to win prizes, often donated by local businesses.
• Sponsored Activities: Fun and educational challenges like readathons, where children can set goals, gather sponsorship, and develop new skills while raising funds.
• Summer Fete: A highlight of the school year, bringing everyone together for games, food, and entertainment.

These events not only help us achieve our fundraising goals but also create lasting memories for pupils, parents, and staff alike.

Our Current Fundraising Goal

This year, we are focusing on an exciting project: The Library Improvement Project. Our aim is to create a vibrant, inspiring, and functional library space that nurtures a love of reading and learning for all pupils. With your support, we can make this vision a reality!

Get Involved

The FoWPA is always eager to welcome volunteers to help make our events a success! There’s no need to commit to every event or meeting – any time you can offer is truly appreciated.

If being in the spotlight isn’t your style, there are plenty of behind-the-scenes roles to get involved with. These might include tasks like assisting with marketing, purchasing supplies, or other preparatory activities.
